At seventeen years of age, Laurence Spence became the youngest ever Irish Champion, and started to race International meetings. During his Grand Prix career he raced for Factory Maico and Kawasaki. Twenty three years later and still racing he finished second in the Four Stroke, and third in the Irish Championships in 2002.

Spence Racing opened in 2003 and is equipped with Dyno and engine tuning facilities for the serious racer, while providing a service centre for everyday motorcycle maintenance.
